Establishing a successful professional life is certainly one of the most important aspects of a fulfilling life anywhere, and Israel is no different. Yet, jumpstarting your professional career and working in Israel is different than working elsewhere. It is therefore important to be aware of the challenges that await and acquire the skills necessary to succeed.

Real Life Israel participants will benefit from three different programmatic approaches to professional advancement over the course of the 5 months:

  1. The Professional Internship – There is no better way to learn than by actual hands-on experience. Your RLI internship will not only allow you to bolster your resume, it will also be an important window to the Israeli work world.

  2. The Business & Working in Israel Symposium - A three-day symposium dedicated to helping you envision your successful professional life in Israel. Participants will meet with top-level executives, visit the headquarters of major Israeli firms and organizations as well as meet with venture capitalists, investment bankers, economists and government officials. We'll visit hi-tech parks as well as areas of traditional industry, learn from highly successful sabra and immigrant professionals and gain insight to starting and running your own business or organization in Israel, and much more.

  3. Israel Life Skills - Professional Workshop Series – These sessions -- held on a regular basis throughout the duration of the program – will cover the "bread and butter" issues that you'll need to address as a part of establishing a successful career. Topics planned include:
  • Understanding the Israeli work environment
    • Work culture in Israel
    • Office etiquette
    • Employee obligations, rights and benefits
  • Getting a Job
